How Polyjet Works

PolyJet models are very simular to stereolithography or SLA models, which use a photosensitive polymer to create 3D Models. The method of application with PolyJet parts allows parts to be created with more accuracy and detail than with SLA. The accuracy of Polyjet nearly eliminates the standard stair stepping found in other Rapid Prototyping processes.

Tolerances

Standard print resolution you can expect on PolyJet models are:

  • X-axis: 600 dpi: 42 µ
  • X-axis: 600 dpi: 42 µ
  • Z-axis: 1600 dpi: 16 µ

Finishes

PolyJet parts are quite precise and usually do not require any finishing beyond support removal.

Additional finishing options are available but require a custom quote.

  • Painting and clear coats
  • Custom finishing available
  • Chrome plating

Build Envelope

Automatic quotes can be built from:

  • 260mm x 260mm x 200mm ( 10.2 X 10.2 X 7.9 inches )

Custom quotes can be built in single pieces up to:

  • 490 x 390 x 200mm (19.3 x 15.4 x 7.9 inches)

Parts can also be built in sections and bonded after building to create larger models.
